The 'One-Person Unicorn' is a lie. Agentic AI is real — but the savings flow to capital, not the consumer.

There is a dangerous myth circulating in 2025: The "One-Person Unicorn." The idea that you, equipped with a laptop and an "Agentic AI" stack, can build a billion-dollar company from your bedroom.
This is a lie.
The "Solopreneur" trend is largely fueled by people selling courses on how to be a solopreneur. It is a multi-level marketing scheme for the digital age.
Yes, AI agents can automate the grunt work — invoice chasing, scheduling, basic code. But great companies are built on human capital, collaboration, and the friction of differing ideas. The reality of the solopreneur in 2025 is burnout. 60% of them underestimated the workload. They are trading the "tyranny of the boss" for the "tyranny of the market," and the market is a much crueler master.
The shift to "Agentic AI" — systems that take action, not just chat — is real. But let's be clear about who wins. Capital wins. If an AI agent can replace a 50-person marketing team, the savings do not go to the consumer; they go to the shareholders. This will exacerbate the wealth gap.
Advice: Do not try to be a "one-person empire." Go to where the growth is. Join a team. Success is a function of the relationships you build, and you cannot build relationships with a chatbot.
